Nigerian artists generated over N60 billion on in 2025, according to the platform’s annual report released on Monday.
The figures show that revenue earned by Nigerian artists has grown by more than 140 percent over the past two years, highlighting the rapid global rise of Nigerian music.
The report also revealed that about 58 percent of all royalties earned by Nigerian artists in 2025 came from independent artists or labels, showing the increasing success of non-mainstream acts.
In terms of streaming performance, Nigerian artists recorded 30.3 billion streams and accumulated 1.6 billion listening hours during the year.
The growth was also evident among female artists, with local streams of Nigerian female musicians increasing by 55 percent.
Nigerian music continued to gain international recognition, as artists from the country were featured in nearly 320 million user-generated playlists worldwide, alongside over 12 million playlists within Nigeria.
Overall, more than 60 million playlists featuring Nigerian artists were created on Spotify in 2025, further cementing the country’s influence on the global music scene.
