Another video has emerged from victims of the recent abduction attack in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, showing a nursing mother pleading for urgent intervention from authorities.
The woman, identified as a staff member of First Baptist Church School, Ogbomosho, appeared emotional in the footage as she appealed to the Federal Government, Oyo State Government and President Bola Tinubu to secure the release of those kidnapped.
Holding her baby, she recounted how gunmen stormed the school and abducted teachers alongside pupils.
“I am Temitope, I am from Ibadan, I am working at First Baptist Church, Ogbomosho. Yesterday, the people came to our school and kidnapped both staff and students. First Baptist Church, we need your help so they will release us. President Tinubu, help us. Our State Government, Engr Seyi Makinde, we need your help,” she said.
The latest video surfaced days after another appeal by Mrs Rachael Alamu, principal of Community High School, Esiele, who also called for urgent rescue efforts after the abduction of seven teachers and 39 pupils last Friday.
Mrs Alamu had appealed to the Federal Government, Governor Seyi Makinde and the Christian Association of Nigeria to assist in securing the release of the victims.
Security agencies said rescue operations are still in progress. Police officers and military personnel have reportedly been deployed to forests around the Old Oyo National Park in search of the abductors.
Reports from the earlier attack stated that an assistant headmaster, Joel Adesiyan, lost his life after he was shot by the attackers. The gunmen also reportedly carted away several motorcycles while escaping from the area.
