The Senate Minority Leader, Abba Moro, has said that the ongoing crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is caused by party members themselves, not external forces.

Speaking in an interview on ARISE News, Moro explained that the instability in the PDP and other political parties is largely self-inflicted. He said key figures such as governors, lawmakers, and party leaders are responsible for creating and worsening internal problems.

“I believe the responsibility lies mainly with political actors,” he said, adding that the visible crisis in parties comes from their own internal actions.

He stressed that those in leadership positions carry the biggest responsibility for the situation, as their decisions often shape the direction of the party.

Addressing claims of division within the PDP, Moro denied that the party is split into factions, insisting it remains united.

“There is only one PDP,” he stated.

Moro also spoke about past internal disputes, including the controversial party convention held in Ibadan. He said the event worsened the crisis because it was conducted despite a court order stopping it.

According to him, the Court of Appeal later ruled the convention invalid, cancelling all decisions made during the exercise.
