Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, a prominent Plateau State cleric, says he has been receiving threats from individuals linked to the Presidential Villa, warning him to stop speaking out about what he describes as a Christian genocide in the state.
Dachomo, who serves as the Regional Chairman of the Church of Christ in Nations (COCIN) in Barkin Ladi, made the revelation in a video circulating on social media. He said the threats intensified over the last two months after he began presenting what he calls credible evidence— including videos of mass graves—contradicting the government’s denial of targeted killings of Christians in Plateau and other parts of the Middle Belt.
According to him, some aides and loyalists of President Bola Tinubu accused him of “demarketing” the country by exposing the killings on a global stage.
He said in the video, “They are threatening and warning me to stop exposing Tinubu’s government at the global level over the ongoing killings of Christians in Nigeria by Fulani terrorists. They say they’re watching my every move from Aso Rock.”
Dachomo claimed that his advocacy has made some government supporters uncomfortable, leading to intimidation and threats against his life. He recalled receiving a phone call from someone in Aso Rock telling him to stop exposing the government internationally.
He said, “Somebody from Aso Rock called me and said, ‘Reverend, stop exposing the government, your own government, your country.’ He told me they are watching every one of my moves. I said, oh, so I’m exposing my government while they watch me right on social media.”
The cleric said he refused to stay silent, arguing that government inaction is exposing Christians to constant attacks.
He said, “What about me? The same government is exposing us to Fulani killings by refusing to stop these attacks. Their silence is endangering Christians all over Nigeria.”
Dachomo narrated how he was at a gravesite near Abuja when he received yet another call, warning him about ongoing events. He said the continuous killings have emboldened extremist groups.
“Now Boko Haram, ISWAP—even though they are divided—are rejoicing. They kill because they know the government cannot stop them. They have exposed us to Islamic terrorists by their silence,” he stated.
He condemned government officials who insist there is no genocide against Christians, saying their denials will not stop him from speaking out.
He also responded to claims by Sheikh Ahmad Gumi that Christian communities in Plateau State were burying empty coffins. Dachomo dismissed Gumi as a terrorist sympathizer who should face international scrutiny.
He said, “Gumi came out and said all the corpses we buried are lies, that we only buried empty coffins. I have made his name known. He must appear before Interpol, even if he hides in Saudi Arabia. They will track him down. He will appear before the International Criminal Court.”
Dachomo further called on the Chief Justice of Nigeria, the Minister of Defense, the army leadership, and security agencies to visit the gravesite to verify the burials. He said he has instructed youths in the village to guard the site to prevent anyone from tampering with the graves.
He concluded emotionally, saying, “Let us dig the grave and see what is there. Who is lying? This is not an empty coffin. God of vengeance will fight for us. Go to my Facebook, and you will see me crying at the grave.”
