The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arrested five notorious suspects said to be behind a series of kidnappings and armed robbery operations in Abuja and neighbouring states.

FCT Police spokesperson, Josephine Adeh, in a statement on Sunday, confirmed that the operation was carried out by the Command’s Scorpion Squad between September 20 and 28, 2025.

According to her, the suspects, who had long been on the wanted list of security agencies, were tracked down after weeks of intelligence gathering. A cache of arms and ammunition was also recovered from them during the operation.

“The suspects are responsible for several kidnappings across the North Central, North West, and North East regions of the country,” Adeh stated.

The Police said investigations are ongoing, and the suspects will be charged to court upon conclusion.
