No fewer than 12,000 less privileged persons across the 44 local government areas of Kano State will, on Tuesday, receive a cash grant of ₦20,000 each from the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, CFR, PhD, FCNA.

The intervention is part of Senator Barau’s ongoing social support initiatives aimed at easing the economic burden on vulnerable individuals and families across the state.

According to a statement from his office, the beneficiaries were carefully selected from all 44 local government areas to ensure fairness and inclusiveness in the distribution process. The programme is designed to provide immediate financial relief, particularly in the face of prevailing economic challenges.

Senator Barau has consistently emphasized the importance of complementing government efforts with targeted interventions that directly impact the lives of ordinary citizens. The cash disbursement initiative aligns with his broader commitment to social welfare, poverty alleviation, and grassroots development in Kano State.

Community leaders and party stakeholders across the state have welcomed the initiative, describing it as a timely gesture that will help cushion the effects of rising living costs on the most vulnerable members of society.
