President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday inaugurated the newly built Corporate Headquarters of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) in Abuja, marking a key step in the agency’s reorganisation.
The ceremony also signalled the transition from the Federal Inland Revenue Service to the restructured Nigeria Revenue Service, as part of broader reforms in the country’s tax system.
In a video shared by his Special Assistant on Social Media, Dada Olusegun, the President commended the agency’s performance before formally opening the facility.
Another clip from the event showed Tinubu cutting the ribbon. He stood alongside the Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Zacch Adedeji, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Abbas Tajudeen, and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, among other senior officials.
Tinubu later read the inscription on the commemorative plaque. He said, “The corporate headquarters of the Nigeria Revenue Service was commissioned on the 14th day of April 2026 by His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This edifice stands as a lasting symbol of integrity.”
Details provided by Olusegun indicate that the complex consists of three towers with sixteen floors. It can accommodate about 3,000 workers.
The development forms part of the administration’s plan to restructure Nigeria’s tax framework and improve operational efficiency within the revenue system.
