President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to driving Nigeria’s development through technology, food security, and global partnerships.
Speaking during an interactive session with Nigerians in Brazil on Tuesday, the President said his government is determined to transform the economy through innovation, reform, and inclusive growth.
“We must bring Nigeria to the forefront of Africa’s progress, driven by technology, food sovereignty, and the courage to change our destiny,” Tinubu declared, while urging the diaspora to see themselves as key partners in building a new Nigeria.
Tinubu drew parallels between Nigeria and Brazil, stressing the need to emulate Brazil’s success in technology and agriculture. He acknowledged the pains of ongoing economic reforms but described them as “bitter medicine” necessary for long-term prosperity.
The President also addressed concerns about consular services, assuring Nigerians that resources were being managed carefully to maintain foreign missions efficiently.
House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, Kaduna Governor Uba Sani, and other top officials at the meeting praised the administration’s economic and diplomatic strides, with Uba Sani noting that the clearing of a \$7 billion forex backlog has restored investor confidence.
Tinubu concluded by appealing for unity among Nigerians at home and abroad, promising that the reforms will pave the way for renewed prosperity.
