Former Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has expressed concern that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directives on addressing insecurity in the state have not yet been implemented.

Ortom made the remarks while speaking on the continued attacks and killings, weeks after President Tinubu visited the state on June 18, following the Yelewata massacre that claimed over 100 lives.

During the visit, Tinubu had instructed former governors, traditional leaders, and Governor Hyacinth Alia to work collectively to restore peace. However, Ortom says no concrete steps have been taken since then.

“We are still waiting for action. People are dying, and nothing has changed,” Ortom lamented.

Tension remains high across affected communities as residents call for urgent government intervention.
