Troops of the Nigerian Army’s 12 Brigade, operating from Forward Operating Base Oguma, have rescued two kidnapped victims and recovered ₦3.8 million ransom in Kogi State.
The operation took place on 2 November 2025, after intelligence revealed kidnapping activities along the Itobe–Adumu–Ejule axis. Acting on the tip-off, troops moved toward Achigili Forest, where they encountered the kidnappers and engaged them in a gun battle.
The soldiers’ superior firepower forced the criminals to flee, abandoning the victims and the ransom money. Both victims were safely rescued and debriefed, while the recovered cash was returned to them.
According to Lieutenant Hassan Abdullahi, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations, the Nigerian Army remains committed to safeguarding lives and property and urged the public to continue supporting security agencies with credible information.
