Two decomposed bodies have been recovered in Mokwa town, days after a devastating flash flood swept through the area following heavy rainfall on May 29.
Local authorities confirmed the discovery on Thursday, bringing fresh grief to a community still reeling from the disaster. The flood, triggered by torrential rains, submerged homes and swept away residents and properties.
Reports by Daily Trust indicated that several people were missing after the incident, prompting ongoing search and rescue efforts.
Emergency officials say recovery operations are continuing, as more victims may still be unaccounted for.
Residents have called for urgent government intervention to improve drainage systems and prevent future disasters.
