Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has applauded pilgrims from the state for their behaviour during the 2026 hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.
The governor also commended officials of the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency for what he described as quality service delivery throughout the pilgrimage operations.
Sani gave the commendation after receiving a briefing from a delegation supervising the hajj exercise in Saudi Arabia.
Details of the meeting were contained in a statement released on Thursday in Makkah by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibraheem Musa.
According to the statement, the governor said the officials of the pilgrims’ agency had distinguished themselves through commitment and efficiency during the exercise.
He also reminded the pilgrims about the spiritual importance of hajj. Sani noted that the religious obligation requires endurance, patience and complete devotion to Allah because of the physical challenges involved.
The governor stated that the briefing presented by the delegation was consistent with reports he had received before arriving in Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, the delegation, led by Salihu Abubakar, Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, updated the governor on the progress of the hajj operations.
Abubakar explained that the agency carried out several activities before and during the pilgrimage. These included the sensitisation of intending pilgrims during the “Bita” exercise, medical screening at the hajj camp and the transportation of pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.
He also spoke about activities conducted in Madina and Makkah. He added that Kaduna pilgrims participated in major hajj rites at Arafat and Muzdalifah, as well as the symbolic stoning at Jamarat before returning to Mina.
Members of the delegation included Bello Ayuba, the governor’s Principal Private Secretary and member of the hajj delegation committee.
Others were Nazir Abubakar, chairman of the Kaduna State House of Assembly committee on interfaith and hajj affairs; Abdulrahman Abuhunain, Senior Special Assistant on Interfaith Matters; and Abubakar Usman Yusuf, Director of Operations at the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency.
