Nollywood actor Timini Egbuson has opened up about his past relationships, sharing honest thoughts about love, money, and personal growth.
In an interview with Jay On-Air TV, the actor admitted that he once believed money was the most important thing in a relationship. However, he said his mindset has changed over time.
“I still think money is important, but what I realise now is that money is just one out of many things that matter. If all you can bring to a relationship is money, then you’re a very shallow man,” he said.
Timini explained that while financial stability is valuable, it cannot replace emotional connection. According to him, being present, listening actively, and consistently showing up for a partner are what truly sustain a relationship.
He added that in a place like Lagos, where many people are already financially comfortable, wealth alone is no longer impressive. What stands out more is emotional maturity and genuine effort.
The actor admitted that communication was the biggest problem in his past relationship. He blamed it partly on his busy schedule and described himself at the time as selfish, saying he did not fully understand what it takes to nurture love.
Timini said he has since grown and now has a deeper understanding of what relationships truly require, noting that love demands more than just money — it requires time, attention, and emotional availability.
His comments have sparked conversations online, with many people agreeing that communication and emotional presence are often missing in modern relationships.
