2026 FIFA World Cup – Teams That Have Already Qualified

As the road to the 2026 FIFA World Cup intensifies, a growing number of teams have officially booked their spots for what promises to be a historic tournament.

With 48 nations set to compete — a record for the men’s World Cup — the qualifying race has already delivered a mix of stalwart powerhouses and exciting debutants.Here’s a look at the nations that have clinched qualification so far, and what their inclusion means:-

Qualified Teams by Regiona

Hosts (Automatic Qualification) United States— one of the three hosts. Canada — co-hosting, making their third-ever World Cup appearance. Mexico — the third host; they return after previous stints.

Asia (AFC) A total of 8 spots are allocated to Asia, and most have already been claimed: Japan — secured their spot early. Iran — remains consistent, qualifying again. Uzbekistan — made history by qualifying for the first time ever. South Korea — extended their impressive World Cup streak. Jordan — another debutant, clinched their first-ever berth. Australia — returned after securing qualification. Qatar — also confirmed their place. Saudi Arabia — locked in their qualification spot.

South America (CONMEBOL)

Six direct slots were on offer, and all have been filled: Argentina — defending champions confirmed early. Brazil — extended their unbroken streak of World Cup appearances. Ecuador, Uruguay, Colombia, and Paraguay also secured their places.

Africa (CAF) CAF has 9 direct spots, and several teams have now clinched theirs: Morocco Tunisia Egypt Algeria Cape Verde, Ghana, Ivory Coast Senegal and South Africa have all qualified.

Oceania (OFC)

New Zealand — clinched the lone guaranteed spot from Oceania.

Europe (UEFA) England — has already sealed their place in the tournament. France — also confirmed, joining England among early European qualifiers.
