BUA Foods MD To Deliver Keynote On Real Sector Transformation

BUA Foods Plc has reaffirmed its commitment to driving industrial growth as its Managing Director, Dr. Ayodele Musibau Abioye, prepares to deliver the keynote address at the 2026 Industry Summit. The event, scheduled for April 17 at the Civic Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, is themed “The Year of the Real Sector.”

Abioye’s presentation, titled “Unlocking Value: BUA Foods’ Role in Transforming Nigeria’s Real Sector Through Innovation and Sustainability,” will highlight how innovation, sustainability, and efficient value chains can strengthen Nigeria’s manufacturing base. Organisers said his selection reflects his proven track record in industrial growth and operational excellence.

Convener of the Industry Summit and Awards, Mr. Goddie Ofose, described Abioye as a results-driven leader with expertise in operations, manufacturing, supply chain management, and business development. He noted that Abioye has consistently delivered growth and profitability throughout his career.

Abioye joined BUA Group in 2021 as Chief Operating Officer before becoming Managing Director of BUA Foods Plc. Under his leadership, the company has expanded into a major player in Nigeria’s food sector and extended its influence across Africa.

Ofose added that Abioye combines strong academic credentials with global exposure. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and technology from the University of Ilorin, a Master’s degree in engineering management, and a PhD in manufacturing engineering from the University of Benin. His professional training spans the United States, Europe, and South Africa. He is a registered engineer with the Nigerian Society of Engineers and COREN, and serves on the advisory board of the University of Ilorin’s Food Engineering Department.

The summit will bring together stakeholders from media, marketing, and corporate sectors to discuss strategies for strengthening Nigeria’s real sector. Companies expected to participate include Tolaram, FrieslandCampina WAMCO, PHD Nigeria, Guinness Nigeria, Diageo West and Central Africa, UAC Foods, and

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, John Enoh, will chair the event. Special guests include Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso; Senior Special Assistant to the President on New Media and Digital Communications, O’tega Ogra; and Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Media and Publicity, Gboyega Akosile.

Organisers said the summit aims to amplify conversations around industrial development, with BUA Foods positioned as a key driver of sustainable growth. Abioye’s keynote will underscore the importance of innovation and sustainability in reducing Nigeria’s dependence on imports and building a resilient manufacturing base.

Industry watchers believe the summit will provide a platform for collaboration among policymakers, corporate leaders, and stakeholders. The discussions are expected to focus on unlocking value in the real sector, improving competitiveness, and fostering economic diversification.

BUA Foods’ leadership role in Nigeria’s food and manufacturing industry will be spotlighted at the 2026 Industry Summit. With Abioye’s keynote address, the event is set to reinforce the importance of innovation, sustainability, and collaboration in transforming Nigeria’s real sector. Stakeholders anticipate that the summit will strengthen dialogue on industrial growth and highlight pathways to achieving long-term economic resilience.
