Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested a suspected terrorist and recovered a rifle during a patrol in Zamfara State.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama shared the development on X, stating that the operation took place on April 3 at about 11:30 a.m. Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, deployed at the Forward Operating Base in Kurya, Gusau Local Government Area, conducted the patrol.
The suspect was apprehended at Tungan Haki village by soldiers of the 1 Brigade Combat Team. Security sources said the suspect was found with an AK-47 rifle, loaded with a magazine containing 13 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.
The suspect and the recovered rifle are currently in military custody for further investigation.
This arrest forms part of ongoing efforts by the Nigerian Army to combat terrorism and secure communities across Zamfara State.
