Paul Scholes has called on Thomas Tuchel, head coach of England, to include young Arsenal midfielder Max Dowman in the squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking on *The Good, The Bad & The Football* podcast, Scholes praised the 16-year-old, describing him as a special talent with huge potential.
“How good is Max Dowman? He is unbelievable,” Scholes said.
He compared the situation to how Lamine Yamal was fast-tracked into the Spain national team at a young age, suggesting England should do the same with Dowman.
“Look at what Spain did with Lamine Yamal… get him in the England squad for the World Cup!
“I’ve got a feeling Tuchel is exactly the kind of coach brave enough to take him,” he added.
Scholes believes Tuchel has the confidence to give young players opportunities on the big stage, which could boost England’s chances at the tournament.
