FIFA has excluded referee Jean-Jacques Ndala from officiating at the 2026 World Cup.
Ndala, who handled the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final between Morocco and Senegal, will not be part of the tournament’s officiating team.
The final, played in Rabat, ended 1-0 in favour of Senegal but was marred by chaos and controversy.
After the match, Ndala faced heavy criticism over his decisions, including failing to blow the final whistle during a protest by Senegal players and not issuing yellow cards when play resumed.
Following the incident, FIFA decided to leave him out of the World Cup referees list.
Meanwhile, the Confederation of African Football later stripped Senegal of the title. However, the team has appealed the decision at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
