The Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG)has suspended its two-day strike following a meeting with the Dangote Group on Tuesday.

The suspension comes less than 48 hours after tanker drivers, under the union, withdrew their services nationwide in protest over welfare and operational disputes.

NUPENG leaders confirmed that the strike was called off after “fruitful deliberations” with Dangote Group executives, paving the way for fuel distribution to resume across the country.

The decision is expected to ease public anxiety over possible petrol scarcity, which had sparked concerns since the strike began on Monday.

Authorities say normal fuel supply is set to pick up immediately.
