The dispute between Dangote Refinery and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) escalated on Saturday as the union directed its members to halt crude oil and gas supplies to the refinery.
In a letter signed by its General Secretary, Lumumba Okugbawa, PENGASSAN instructed all branch chairmen in key upstream and midstream oil companies to enforce the directive with immediate effect.
The move marks a significant escalation in the standoff between the union and Africa’s largest refinery, raising concerns about potential disruptions in operations and supply.
Further details on the cause of the rift and possible government intervention are still emerging.
