Italian journalist Fabio Caressa has taken aim at Ademola Lookman for his reaction after being substituted during Atalanta’s 1–0 win over Olympique Marseille in the UEFA Champions League.
The Nigerian forward’s furious outburst toward head coach Ivan Juric has ignited widespread debate surrounding player discipline and professionalism.
The incident unfolded in the 75th minute, when Juric opted to replace Lookman with Yunus Musah in a tactical move to protect Atalanta’s slender lead. The decision visibly enraged Lookman, who appeared frustrated as he left the pitch. He exchanged heated words with Juric, and the confrontation briefly escalated.
Juric, clearly irritated, attempted to rein in the situation by grabbing Lookman’s arm, but teammates and technical staff quickly intervened to prevent further escalation.
After the match, Juric downplayed the altercation, describing it as something that occasionally happens in football. However, Caressa, one of Sky Sport’s most respected commentators, remained unconvinced.
He openly questioned Lookman’s demeanor, stressing the importance of maintaining professionalism both on and off the field.
The veteran journalist went further, expressing concern over what he perceived as a recurring behavioral pattern.
