N’Golo Kante Joins Fenerbahce With Erdogan’s Backing After Al-Ittihad Exit

France midfielder N’Golo Kante has officially signed for Turkish giants Fenerbahce from Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad, a move the club says was made possible with the support of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The 2018 World Cup winner, who turns 35 next month, had initially been set to join Fenerbahce earlier, but the transfer stalled due to an administrative error. While the length of his contract has not been disclosed, the deal gives the two-time Premier League champion — with Leicester City in 2016 and Chelsea in 2017 — a chance to strengthen his bid for a place in France’s World Cup squad.

Fenerbahce president Sadettin Saran expressed gratitude to Erdogan, noting that his involvement was key to finalizing the transfer. The Turkish champions, who have lifted the league title 19 times, also secured the signing of fellow French midfielder Matteo Guendouzi during the winter window.

Currently three points behind rivals Galatasaray in the title race, Fenerbahce will also face Nottingham Forest in the Europa League knockout play-offs later this month.

Would you like me to make this headline more punchy for sports media (shorter, high-impact) or more formal for a news outlet?
