Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has urged residents to remain calm following a series of bomb explosions in the state capital on Monday.

The blasts reportedly left several people injured, causing panic across affected neighborhoods as emergency responders rushed to assist victims and secure the areas.

In a statement, Zulum described the attacks as “utterly condemnable, barbaric and inhumane.” He condemned the targeting of civilians and places of worship, noting that such actions are unacceptable, particularly during a period when Muslim faithful are observing acts of devotion.

The governor extended his condolences to the families of those affected and prayed for the swift recovery of the injured. He also called on residents to remain vigilant, urging communities to strengthen security awareness in mosques, churches, markets, and other public spaces.

Zulum assured citizens that security agencies have launched investigations to identify those responsible for the explosions. “Those behind the attack will be brought to justice,” he said.

The attacks come amid ongoing security challenges in the region, raising concerns about the protection of civilians in public and religious spaces.
