In a video now going viral, posted by Esther Umoh, Peter Obi’s 2023 campaign photographer, on her X handle, participants at the national convention of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) were seen warmly welcoming Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.
The clip showed Obi and Kwankwaso arriving at the venue of the convention, as delegates began chanting their names, “Obi-Kwankwaso”, signaling a possible call from the crowd for a joint presidential ticket between the two political heavyweights.
The ADC convention is currently being held at the Rainbow Event Center after the party said it faced difficulties securing a venue for the event, alleging that the ruling party deliberately created obstacles.
Obi was the second runner-up in the last election, polling over six million votes and winning 11 states and the FCT, while Kwankwaso finished fourth, securing over one million votes and maintaining a strong political base in his home state of Kano.
