Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said his priority is building a better Nigeria, not just occupying the presidential seat.
Atiku stated this yesterday in Lagos during an affirmation ceremony organised by the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for new defectors from other political parties.
According to a report by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), several prominent members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) formally announced their defection to the ADC at the event.
The former vice president, who has contested for the presidency multiple times, stressed that his political journey is driven by a desire to see Nigeria progress, rather than personal ambition.
Party leaders at the gathering described the influx of new members as a boost to the ADC’s strength ahead of future elections, pledging to work towards a more inclusive and development-focused political system.
