Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, has revealed that marijuana was once planted in his car in an attempt to frame him. He shared the story in a viral video, recalling the incident which happened in 1987 while he was in Kaduna.
Oyedepo explained that the discovery was made by his former driver, Clifford, who had returned from Katsina and insisted on washing the car that morning. While cleaning, the driver removed the car seat and found a freshly wrapped substance hidden underneath.
According to the bishop, Clifford became frightened and ran to him, shaking as he revealed what he had found. The driver recognized the item as marijuana and explained that it looked like the same type his wife planted behind their house.
Oyedepo said he had never seen marijuana before, as he became a Christian early in life and had no exposure to such substances. He emphasized that the planting was a deliberate attempt to get him into trouble.
His words:
“Some fellows planted marijuana in my car in those days, 1987, in Kaduna, at the mechanical shop. I’ve never seen it in my life, so I wouldn’t know. My driver, who was my former driver, came in from Katsina, and he said, ‘Sir, let me wash the car this morning.’ He is now a pastor.
So he was going to wash the car. Mysteriously, he was removing the seat—I’ve never seen that kind of car wash in my life—and found freshly wrapped stuff. He opened it.
Clifford ran to me, shivering, and I said, ‘What’s the matter?’ He said, ‘See, see, see.’ I said, ‘What is it?’ He said, ‘That’s one of the things my wife plants behind the house. This is wee-wee.’
I said, ‘What is wee-wee?’ I came to know Jesus early, so I didn’t have the opportunity of knowing such things.”
