Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has responded to allegations that he harassed a woman after she turned down his romantic advances.
The woman, through her law firm Bristol & Mortglass C.S., claimed she suffered emotional distress and continuous online harassment from the artist after rejecting his advances in December 2024.
Reacting via his Instagram story, Blaqbonez denied the accusations, describing them as “false and deeply distressing.” He stated that the claims were part of a “sustained pattern of harassment and intimidation” he has endured from certain individuals within the music industry.
“Over the past few days, several false and deeply distressing allegations have been circulated online about me. These claims are not only untrue, they are part of a sustained pattern of harassment and intimidation that I have endured for months,” he wrote.
The rapper explained that the situation stemmed from a past relationship that ended respectfully but has since been twisted and used as part of a “broader feud” in the industry.
“What began as a personal matter between two adults has been pulled into a broader feud, reshaped and used as ammunition in a campaign to discredit me publicly,” he added.
Blaqbonez revealed that he is fully cooperating with authorities and has engaged his legal team to address the matter. He also emphasized his commitment to transparency and clearing his name.
“I’ve worked hard to represent honesty and self-belief in my art. That will not change. The truth will come out, and when it does, I hope this moment reminds everyone that false accusations destroy real lives,” he stated.
The rapper concluded by thanking his supporters, saying his focus remains on his music, peace, and reputation.
