Nigerian rapper Emeka Akumefule, popularly known as Blaqbonez, has shared that his relationship with his father is now stronger than ever.
Speaking on The Perspective podcast, the artist revealed that he and his father have become closer and communicate more frequently.
“My relationship with my dad is getting stronger and stronger. We are talking more than ever before. It is better than it has ever been,” he said.
Blaqbonez reunited with his father in January 2025 after years of separation. The rapper had previously disclosed that his dad abandoned him and his mother after his birth and relocated to Germany.
Following their reunion, Blaqbonez also met his German step-siblings for the first time — a moment that marked a new chapter in their family relationship.
When asked if his fame played a role in their reconciliation, the rapper explained that his father would have reconnected with him regardless of his celebrity status, noting that his dad doesn’t live in Nigeria and isn’t fully aware of how popular he is.
The revelation has warmed the hearts of fans, who praised Blaqbonez for embracing forgiveness and rebuilding his family ties after years of distance.
