Nigerian comedian and content creator Carter Efe has had his Twitch account temporarily suspended, just days after making history with a viral livestream featuring Afrobeats superstar Davido.
The highly publicised broadcast, which took place on December 17, 2025, attracted massive global attention and pushed Carter Efe to the top of Africa’s Twitch rankings. The stream helped him gain over 405,000 followers, making him the most-followed African streamer on the platform at the time.
On Monday, Carter Efe disclosed that Twitch placed a four-month suspension on his account, citing violations of its Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. However, the streaming platform did not specify the exact infractions that led to the action.
The suspension comes shortly after the comedian overtook several popular Nigerian streamers, including Shank Comics, and delivered one of the most-viewed Twitch livestreams in collaboration with Davido.
Following the announcement, fans flooded Carter Efe’s social media pages with messages of support, describing him as a “joy giver” and urging Twitch to reconsider and reverse the suspension.
Online discussions have suggested that the ban may have been triggered by mass reporting over comments or behaviour during the livestream, though this has not been officially confirmed.
Reports claiming that Carter Efe was also banned from other digital platforms were later debunked.
The development has left many of his followers disappointed, especially as it occurred during the festive season, with supporters hoping the issue will be resolved quickly and positively.
