Nigerian singer CKay has made history as the first Nigerian artist to have a solo track cross 1 billion streams on Spotify. His 2019 global hit Love Nwantiti (Ah Ah Ah) has officially surpassed the milestone, placing him in the prestigious Spotify 1 Billion Club.

CKay also becomes the first solo male African artist to reach this mark.

Reacting on X, he wrote:
“First solo Nigerian song to cross 1 billion streams. Grateful to God and the people involved in this historic success! Thank you for streaming.”

Wizkid was the first African artist to join the 1 Billion Club back in 2017 through his collaboration with Drake on One Dance, which remains the first song in history to reach 1 billion Spotify streams.

Rema later became the first African lead artist to hit 1 billion streams with the remix of Calm Down featuring Selena Gomez.
