Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has officially joined the billionaires’ club becoming the first active footballer to achieve the milestone, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
Bloomberg, in its latest update this week, listed Ronaldo’s net worth at $1.4 billion marking his debut on the prestigious index of the world’s wealthiest individuals.
Ronaldo’s fortune, according to the report, stems not only from his record-breaking football earnings but also from lucrative endorsement deals, business ventures, and real estate investments across the globe.
The Al Nassr forward, who previously starred for Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus, has built a vast commercial empire under the CR7 brand, which spans fashion, fragrances, hotels, and fitness centers.
With this feat, Ronaldo joins a select group of global sports billionaires — a list that includes basketball legend LeBron James and golf icon Tiger Woods — but stands out as the only one still actively competing at the highest level of his sport.
The 39-year-old continues to demonstrate remarkable longevity both on and off the pitch, with Forbes recently ranking him as the highest-paid athlete in the world for 2024, earning over $260 million in combined salary and endorsements.
