Former Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas (rtd), has called on residents to support Governor Siminalayi Fubara as he resumes office following the end of the state of emergency.
In a farewell state-wide broadcast on Wednesday, Ibas expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve during the six-month emergency rule. He said his administration’s efforts were focused on restoring order, peace, and stability in the state.
“I urge all Rivers people to rally behind Governor Fubara in the spirit of unity and cooperation for the progress of the state,” Ibas said.
The federal government lifted the state of emergency in Rivers on Tuesday, paving the way for the governor, deputy governor, and House of Assembly members to return to their duties.
