The sacred journey of Hajj 2025 officially begins today as over 1.5 million pilgrims, including thousands from Nigeria, converge on Mina— the iconic “City of Tents” near Makkah.
Mina, a desert valley just 8 kilometers from the Holy City, becomes a temporary home for pilgrims on this day known as Yawm at-Tarwiyah. Here, worshippers will engage in prayers and reflection, spending the night under thousands of white tents.
Tomorrow, June 5 (9 Dhul-Hijjah), marks the climax of the Hajj: the Day of Arafat, when pilgrims will proceed to the plains of Arafat to seek forgiveness and divine mercy — the most spiritually significant part of the pilgrimage.
For many, this journey is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream — a moment of unity, submission, and peace shared with Muslims from every corner of the world.
