The family of popular Nollywood actor, Alex Ekubo, has officially confirmed his death.
In a statement shared on the actor’s Instagram page on Wednesday, the family disclosed that he passed away at Evercare Hospital in Lagos after battling complications from advanced metastatic kidney cancer.
“It Is With Profound Sadness That We Announce The Passing Of Our Beloved Husband, Son, Brother, And Friend, Alexx Ikenna Ekubo-Okwaraeke,” The Statement Read In Part.
The family explained that the actor fought courageously during his illness before eventually passing away.
“After A Brief But Courageous Battle, Alexx Passed Away At Evercare Hospital Due To Complications Arising From Advanced Metastatic Kidney Cancer,” The Statement Added.
According to the family, Alex Ekubo remained strong, hopeful, and faithful throughout his final days despite the pain he experienced.
“He Bore His Pain With Remarkable Strength, Unwavering Faith, And Enduring Hope, Believing That One Day His Testimony Would Be Shared With The World,” The Family Said.
The family also appealed to the public to respect their privacy and continue praying for the peaceful repose of the actor’s soul and for everyone grieving the loss.
They stated that details regarding funeral arrangements and other family matters would be announced at a later time.
“We Sincerely Thank Everyone For The Love, Support, Prayers, And Understanding Extended To The Family Throughout This Period,” The Statement Concluded.
