Residents of Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of Enugu State have been left in shock following the alleged killing of a woman and her son by a male relative in Ekwegbe community.
The incident was made public on Saturday by social media influencer Chijinkem Ugwuanyi in a post shared on Facebook.
According to the post, the suspect, identified simply as Nwa Jonah, allegedly attacked and killed his sister and her son on Friday in Ekwegbe community.
Ugwuanyi wrote, “Man kills his sister and nephew at Ekwegbe, Igbo-Etiti LGA.”
He also alleged that a similar incident occurred in Ukehe community, where another man reportedly killed his mother while allegedly under the influence of hard drugs.
The social media post claimed that the two incidents happened on the same day, raising concerns among residents in the area.
As of the time of filing the report, authorities had not officially commented on the incidents, while the exact circumstances surrounding the killings remain unclear.
Residents of the affected communities have reportedly been thrown into fear and confusion following the tragic developments.
