Ace rapper and YBNL boss, Olamide Adedeji, has revealed that he is now in a new chapter of his life — one centred on self-prioritization.
Speaking during an interview with Flow 98.7 FM, Olamide explained that he has spent most of his career supporting others while still trying to push his own music. According to him, this new phase is about giving himself the full attention he has always given everyone else.
He said:
“Right now, I’m at the phase in my life where I’m really trying to give myself undivided attention. All my life I’ve been trying to be there for people and also trying to do my stuff. But right now, I’m really just trying to focus on myself 100 percent.”
Over the years, Olamide has played a major role in shaping Afrobeats by helping several artists rise to stardom through his label, YBNL, including Lil Kesh, Young John, Pheelz, Fireboy DML, Lyta, Asake, Adekunle Gold, and others.
He has also provided major breakthroughs for many artists through collaborations, such as Zlatan Ibile, Naira Marley, Portable, Bella Shmurda, and more.
Now, after years of lifting others, Olamide says it’s time to put himself first.
