Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has opened up about his deep commitment to family, saying that his wife, Simi, and daughter, Adejare, are the most important part of his life.

Speaking on the NotJustOk podcast, the “Orente” crooner said he can live with failure in music, but not as a father or husband.

Adekunle Gold explained that one of his biggest goals is to give his daughter a better life than the one he had growing up.

He revealed that his song “My Love Is The Same” was inspired by his desire to be a present and loving father.

“All I wanted to do is give my daughter a better life than I had. I can’t afford to bring her into the kind of life I grew up living. It has to be way better. That’s why I work so hard,” he said.

“My family is my centre. I don’t joke with my family. I can afford to be a failed musician, not a failed father or a man. That’s not negotiable for me,” he added.
