Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has shared a frightening experience from a surgery that almost claimed his life.

The artist revealed that the incident happened around the same time he released his hit single “Declan Rice.” What was supposed to be a simple 30-minute tonsil removal procedure turned into a five-hour emergency after unexpected complications arose.

According to Odumodublvck, his surgeon had never needed help in 12 years of performing that operation, but on that day, he was forced to call for assistance. Miraculously, another doctor who was usually an hour away happened to be just two minutes from the hospital and arrived in time to save him.

Speaking in a viral video, the rapper described how he genuinely thought he would not make it through the surgery and even told his 71-year-old mother that he was going to die.

He said, “When I dropped Declan Rice, that’s when I did the surgery. The operation was supposed to last 20 to 30 minutes but took five hours. The doctor said that in 12 years, he had never asked for help, but that day he did. The man he called was just two minutes away, even though he normally stays one hour from the hospital. He came in quietly, helped with the surgery, and left like an angel.”
