Controversial Nigerian entertainer Uche Maduagwu has issued a public apology to singer Davido and his wife, Chioma Adeleke, admitting that his online attacks against the couple were paid for.

In a video shared on his Instagram page on Thursday, Maduagwu expressed regret over his repeated criticism of the singer and his family, revealing that he was paid N2.5 million to troll them on social media.

He disclosed that he was not acting alone, claiming that four other Nigerian influencers were also paid to ridicule Davido online. According to him, the singer did nothing to deserve the attacks.

“I was paid to ridicule your wife and your family. I’m not the only one, we’re like five different influencers in Nigeria that were paid,” he said.

He further urged others allegedly involved to return the money they were paid and apologise publicly.

“I’m urging other people that were paid to ridicule Davido to please come out and return the money they said you should use to criticise this guy. He has not done anything wrong,” Maduagwu stated.

Apologising directly to the singer, he added, “I want to apologise to Davido, please forgive me. I collected over N2 million to ridicule you and I’m sorry. Others, please return the money they paid you.”

Captioning the video, Maduagwu wrote that he was overwhelmed with emotion and begged Nigerians to help plead with Davido to forgive him.

“God I’m in tears now. I just want Davido to forgive me. We are five influencers paid to criticise Davido. Every criticism you constantly see about Davido and his wife online was paid for. Please help me beg 001 to forgive me.”
