During a recent appearance on the Afrobeats Intelligence podcast with Joey Akan, Nigerian singer Bella Shmurda revealed that, if he hadn’t pursued music, he believes he would be a preacher or motivational speaker.
“I feel like preaching is my purpose,” he explained. “If I wasn’t an artist, I might be a preacher or a motivational speaker. I easily cheer people up and reach their deepest parts, and that’s why I’m here.”
He went on to say that this spiritual side shows up in his music, too. “When I’m writing, I can’t do without spirituality. You can even hear it in my voice,” he added.
Bella Shmurda’s hit song “Triumphant” carries that same uplifting energy, blending his faith and his art to inspire listeners.
