Nollywood actor Olatayo Amokade, popularly known as Ijebu, has sparked reactions online after claiming that he spent ₦1.8 trillion on internet subscription in 2025.

The actor made the revelation in a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter), where he expressed shock and disbelief over the amount he said he had spent on data from January to date.

According to Ijebu, the figure has left him sleepless, as he did not initially realise how much money had allegedly gone into internet usage. He added that since making the disclosure, he has been overwhelmed with calls and messages from people reacting to the claim.

Ijebu did not provide a detailed breakdown of how the ₦1.8 trillion was spent on data or whether the amount referred to personal, business, or cumulative expenses.

“From January till today, it’s ₦1.8 trillion. I opened my mouth, it’s too much,” he said in the video.
