Nigerian gospel singer Sola Allyson has disclosed that although she is married, she no longer lives with her husband. She made the revelation during a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV.

The 54-year-old singer, who rose to fame with the love-themed album Eji Owuro, opened up about her marital struggles and said she never experienced the “happily ever after” many people talk about.

“I’m married, but I’m not in my husband’s house. We live separately. He in his house and I in mine,” she said.

When asked if she ever felt genuine love in her marriage—especially considering the romantic nature of her hit song—Allyson explained that society had misled many people into believing marriage is easy as long as there is love.

“We lied before. Those older than us didn’t inform us that it’s tough. They made us believe that so long as you both love each other, you will live happily ever after, but it’s a lie,” she said.

She added that despite her efforts, she never experienced the marital joy others describe.
“That’s not the experience I have. I didn’t have the experience of living happily ever after. I did all I could to make it work. Marriage has been a big challenge. I hear people talk about joy in marriage, but I have never experienced it,” she added.
