The Labour Party faction loyal to Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has elected Senator Usman Nenadi as its National Chairman.
Nenadi who was the caretaker National Chairman was confirmed to a substantive capacity in the party’s national convention held at Umuahia, the Abia State capital.
She was a former Minister of Finance and representated Southern Kaduna in the Senate. Her current confirmation makes her the first woman to lead a political party at the national level in Nigeria’s history.
In a statement released on Tuesday by Ken Eluma Asogwa, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, the convention also elected other National Working Committee (NWC) members which will pilot the affairs of the party notably during the 2027 general elections.
Those elected include: Iheanacho Obioma as National Secretary, Mrs. Nike Oriola as Deputy National Chairman, and Ken Eluma Asogwa as National Publicity Secretary, among others.
