Nigerian gospel singer Moses Bliss was unable to attend a major worship concert in Tanzania after he and his team were denied entry into the country over visa-related problems.
The event, which reportedly drew more than 60,000 worshippers, was scheduled for October 2, following Bliss’s successful performance in Kenya.
According to the artist, his team had planned to travel from Nairobi to Tanzania for the free concert but discovered at the airport that their visas had not been approved, despite earlier assurances from the organizers.
Bliss revealed that he contacted several government officials and ambassadors across Africa to resolve the issue, but all efforts failed. They were later advised to obtain visas on arrival in Dar es Salaam; however, Tanzanian immigration officials refused them entry upon arrival at midnight.
In an emotional message, Bliss expressed disappointment over the situation, describing it as “very painful” after months of planning and heavy investment to make the concert free for attendees.
He apologized to his fans in Tanzania, clarifying that they were not at fault and promising to return in the future.
“I did everything within my power to be with you tonight,” he said. “We were told we’d get a visa on arrival, but when we landed, immigration didn’t let us in. We spent hours at the airport before being sent back. It hurts, but by God’s grace, I’ll return to worship with you all soon.”
