Afrobeats singer and entrepreneur, Mr Eazi, whose real name is Oluwatosin Ajibade, has revealed his plans to run for president in the future.
The “Skin Tight” hitmaker, who recently tied the knot with Temi Otedola, daughter of billionaire businessman Femi Otedola, made the announcement in a video shared on Snapchat.
Mr Eazi said he has been thinking about joining politics and believes he has what it takes to lead an African country.
“I’ve been thinking about it for a while, and I think it’s time to share it. Some of you might be from a country in Africa looking for a president — one who isn’t after money or power, but is young, active, and forward-thinking. So, I’m officially putting myself forward for the presidency,” he said.
Although born in Nigeria, Mr Eazi has strong ties to Ghana, where he studied and began his music career. He has often credited Ghana for inspiring his signature sound, known as Banku music.
His revelation comes as more Nigerian entertainers show interest in politics. In April 2025, actress Eniola Badmus also expressed her ambition to become a senator, while former Senator Ben Bruce once predicted that Davido could become the Governor of Osun State someday.
