Troops of Sector 1, Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS), have arrested a herder over alleged destruction of farmland in Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue State.
The development was disclosed by security analyst, Zagazola Makama, in a post shared on X.
According to him, troops stationed at Anule responded to a report of farm destruction around 12:00 p.m. on May 3.
On arrival, the soldiers reportedly found the suspect grazing cattle on cultivated farmland, leading to significant damage to crops.
“The Suspect Was Subsequently Arrested And Handed Over To The Nigeria Police Force For Further Investigation And Necessary Action.
“Efforts Are Ongoing To Prevent Further Incidents And Ensure Peaceful Coexistence Between Farming And Herding Communities In The Area,” He Said.
