The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has told members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aligned with former Minister Taminu Turaki that his camp is prepared to continue the legal battle if they decide to challenge recent court rulings at the Supreme Court.

Wike made the remark on Monday after the faction loyal to him secured victory in nine separate appeals filed by the Turaki-led group, which is believed to be backed by Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.

The Court of Appeal in Abuja on Monday threw out the appeal submitted by the Turaki faction.

The appellate court also affirmed an earlier decision by the Federal High Court in Abuja delivered on October 31, 2025. The ruling barred the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from recognizing the outcome of the PDP’s 2025 National Convention.

It was earlier reported that the Federal High Court judgment restrained INEC from acknowledging decisions taken at the convention.

Reacting to the latest court outcome, Wike urged members of the party to consider reconciliation but warned that further legal action could worsen the internal crisis.

“Today’s judgement is an opportunity for PDP to reconcile, but if they decide to go to the Supreme Court, it won’t augur well for the party.

“If they insist on going to the Supreme Court, we’ll be ready for them. We won all nine appeals against them Today in court, and each comes with N2m cost totalling N18m against them.”
