Reality star Josephine Ijioma Otabor, popularly known as Phyna, has denied claims that she has not received her N100 million grand prize for winning the 2022 Big Brother Naija season.
The controversy resurfaced after a video allegedly showing Phyna saying she had not received her prize began trending online. Addressing the clip during a recent Twitch livestream, Phyna clarified that the video was cut maliciously and misrepresented her words. She explained that she was only referring to people who mocked her for becoming a streamer despite having won the prize years ago.
“They keep cutting my video. I never said I have not received my 100 million naira. I was only talking to people who asked me if the 100 million naira has finished,” she said.
Phyna added that the misleading video nearly caused a legal dispute with the reality show organisers. She urged them to view the full Twitch video for clarification and warned bloggers to stop editing her videos to twist her statements. She also threatened legal action against anyone whose clips could put her in trouble.
After earlier statements from both Phyna’s team and BBNaija organisers, fans had assumed the prize matter was resolved—but this latest video brought it back into public discussion.
