Actress Regina Daniels has threatened to take legal action against her estranged husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, and others over claims that she uses hard drugs.
Regina made this known in a video shared on her Instagram page on Wednesday, where she addressed the allegations and presented laboratory test results to back her claims. According to her, the drug test was conducted at a hospital in California.
She explained that the test results showed she tested negative for hard drugs. However, the report indicated an association with ecstasy, commonly known as molly.
Speaking in the video, Regina expressed frustration over the allegations, saying they were deliberately meant to destroy her image.
“Hi everyone, it’s Regina Daniels. I don’t believe that I will sit in front of this camera again trying to clear up an accusation that was sent to destroy me,” she said.
She noted that the new year made her reflect deeply on the kind of narratives she allows to follow her as a public figure.
“It’s a new year, and with it came a moment of clarity. I realised that there are certain narratives I can no longer allow linger over my name as a public figure,” she stated.
Regina also spoke about the support she has received from fans and loved ones, saying she would not allow false stories to bring shame to those who believe in her.
“I also realised how many people love me, support and believe in me. And I will never let that love or loyalty be met with shame or doubt. I mean, tell me what better way to tear down a brand than drugs,” she said.
Explaining why she took the drug test, the actress said it was not just to clear her name, but to stand firmly in her truth and protect her children’s future.
“Taking this test is not about clearing my name, it is about giving a strong and confident voice to those who believe in me. And above all, to give my children something priceless — pride,” she said.
She added that when her children are old enough, they will know the truth about her.
“When they grow up to the proper age of understanding, they will know that their mother was never a drug addict,” she said.
Regina firmly denied ever using hard drugs, describing the online claims as fabricated.
“And please note, I was never on any hard drugs or any nonsense fabricated online,” she said.
She ended the video by warning that legal action would be taken at the right time, stressing that she would not let the allegations slide.
“I will sue. I will definitely sue at the appropriate time. And honestly speaking, the only drug I was associated with was ecstasy. Believe it or not, there’s a reason for that,” she concluded.
