Renowned Nigerian evangelist, Reverend Dr. Uma Ukpai, has reportedly passed away at the age of 80 in Lagos.
The news of his death was first shared by the church platform Therealchurchgist on Instagram, though his family has not yet confirmed or denied the report.
The post described the late cleric as a “dynamic kingdom general” and “a beacon of light and inspiration to many,” adding that he had “gone to be with the Lord.”
Reverend Dr. Uma Ukpai, born on January 7, 1945, in Asaga, Ohafia, Abia State, was one of Nigeria’s most respected preachers and the founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association (UUEA).
He was widely known for his powerful crusades, healing ministry, and unwavering commitment to spreading the gospel across Nigeria and beyond.
Throughout his life, Dr. Ukpai established several faith-based institutions, including the Uma Ukpai School of Theology, Uma Ukpai Polytechnic, and King of Kings Specialist Hospital. He was also deeply involved in humanitarian and medical outreach programs that impacted thousands of people.
A founding member of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Rev. Ukpai’s work and message inspired countless believers for decades.
He is survived by his wife, Philomena Ukpai, and their children.
